Super Mario Bros. Z is a 2006 action-adventure Flash web series created and written by Mark Haynes. It is a crossover of the Super Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog franchises, with story elements and stylistic inspiration from Dragon Ball Z. The plot follows a band of characters from the Mario and Sonic universes as they race to find the seven Chaos Emeralds before the evil Mecha Sonic can obtain them. Along the way, they are beset by a number of conflicting enemy factions. The series ran for eight episodes from 2006 to 2009 before abruptly coming to an end; a fragment of the incomplete ninth episode was released in 2012, and a reboot was launched in 2016.
The original series was covered on The D-Pad in 2020, as part of The Super Sonic Let's Play. A Seriesly episode was released on December 27, 2020, followed by a series of D-Pad + Chill episodes reacting to the show from December 28, 2020.
