Sonic Colors: Rise of the Wisps is a 2021 animated web series directed by Tyson Hesse and written by GGDG and Hesse. It is based on the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, and serves as a promotional series for Sonic Colors Ultimate, similar to previous series Sonic Mania Adventures and Team Sonic Racing Overdrive. The plot follows Sonic and Tails as they attempt to free captured Wisps from Dr. Eggman. The series ran for two episodes in August 2021, shortly before the release of Sonic Colors Ultimate. The series was covered on The D-Pad upon its release, as part of The Super Sonic Let's Play. A series of D-Pad + Chill episodes reacting to the show were released from September 7 to September 8, 2021.
