Sonic the Hedgehog is a 2020 adventure comedy film directed by Jeff Fowler and written by Pat Casey and Josh Miller. It stars James Marsden, Ben Schwartz, Tika Sumpter, Natasha Rothwell, Adam Pally, Neal McDonough, and Jim Carrey. It is the first live-action film based on the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. The plot follows Sonic as he teams up with a local sheriff to protect Earth from the world-conquering ambitions of Dr. Robotnik. The film was covered on The D-Pad throughout its release cycle as part of The Super Sonic Let's Play, with an episode of The D-Pad Reacts covering the film's first trailer released on May 4, 2019, followed by a review in the eighth episode of Movie Nights at the Roundtable on February 24, 2020.
